TOURNAMENT RULES
WEIGH-IN TIME NOTIFICATION: Once your team is registered, you will immediately receive an email with instructions and additional details. Boat numbers and weigh-in times for all registered teams will be assigned and posted on Friday night at 7:00 PM, prior to the tournament. This information will be available at www.despinotire.com and on the Despino Tire Facebook page. You will also receive an email and text notification once your boat number is posted.
RULES: All decisions made by the tournament director and/or tournament officials will be final. The tournament director may make a change at his discretion or when the safety of the anglers is at question. Tournament officials have the right to refuse any entry.
FORWARD FACING SONAR: No type of forward-facing sonar may be used at any time during tournament hours.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND DRUGS: Anyone consuming alcoholic beverages or drugs (other than prescription) during the tournament hours will be disqualified.
SPORTSMANSHIP: All contestants are expected to practice courtesy, safety, and follow local and state laws. Anyone not doing so will be disqualified. Any person who has been disqualified from any prior tournament may be subject to being refused entry to tournament.
ELIGIBILITY: This is an open tournament. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Teams must fish from the same boat. No one other than a paid contestant in the boat during tournament hours. Contestants must have a valid Toledo Bend fishing license, driver's license and/or photo ID in their possession during tournament hours. Any angler that has entered a bass tournament that required an entry fee greater than $2,500 in the past 12 months may not enter.
BAIT & TACKLE: Only artificial lures may be used with the exception of pork rinds and liquid bait attractant. NO LIVE BAIT. No trolling the main engine. Only one rod per angler in the water at any time.
CELL PHONES: No cell phone usage or data usage during tournament hours, unless it's an emergency.
OUTSIDE HELP: Cannot receive any outside help or information on the day of the tournament.
FISHING GUIDES: Licensed Guides or anyone who has guided on tournament waters in the last 90 days are not allowed to fish.
PERMISSIBLE WATERS: Contestants must be able to drive into any waters they fish. Contestants must fish from boat.
POLYGRAPH: By entering this tournament, each contestant agrees to submit to a polygraph examination and accept the polygraph results. If team fails or refuses exam, team will be disqualified from tournament, and all winnings will be forfeited
PRACTICE CATCH & RELEASE: Contestants will be responsible for their own weigh in bag. Every effort must be made to keep fish alive and in good condition for release.
LATE PENTALTY: 1 pound per minute penalty; after 15 minutes, you are disqualified.
BOATS &: MOTORS: No engine shall exceed the maximum HP rating for the boat on which it is used. All boats must meet U.S. Coast Guard and state regulations. All boats must have an aerated live well.
SAFETY: U.S. Coast Guard approved life vests must be worn and secured while the main engine is running. The engine kill switch must be attached to the driver while the main engine is running. The tournament will take place regardless of weather, please use caution.
SCORING FISH: A maximum of five (5) fish per team. All fish must measure at least 14 inches in length. A 1-pound penalty will be deducted from the total weight for each fish under 14". The short fish will not be included in team's total weight. 1/2-pound penalty will be deducted from the total weight for each dead fish.
CULLING: No team may have more than 5 fish in their live-well at any time. Culling must begin after possession of the 6' fish.
TIES: Lowest entry number breaks 1st place tie.
OFF LIMITS: There are no off Limits for this tournament.
TRAILERING: Trailering is allowed. Contestants may leave from any launch site. Official Start Time & Official Stop Times will be determined based on cell phone service.
